Immune Booster Formula 1 Shake with Apple, Ginger and Lime

INGREDIENTS & METHOD

  • 2 scoops of Herbalife Nutrition Formula 1 shake: Vanilla, Banana Cream, Strawberry Delight or Summer Berries would all go well.
  • 250 ml of non-fat milk OR 1-2 scoops of Protein Drink Mix (Vegans – use 250 ml of soya milk)
  • 1/2 an apple, diced,
  • 1/2 a fresh lime or lemon
  • 1 teaspoon of grated ginger
  • Optional: 3-5 ice cubes

Blend all well together and enjoy as a healthy breakfast, snack or replacement to any other meal.

I am a firm believer in making breakfasts the most essential part of our daily routine and where we make a start when trying to change our lifestyle. And once we have this healthy habit sorted – of not just having A breakfast as part of our daily routine, but THE breakfast – the right kind of breakfast – then we build the rest of the good habits on top of it, one by one.

With chronic diseases on the rise, the United Nations, the World Health Organisation and Children’s Fund (UNICEF) have finally recognised the importance of breakfast as a healthy behaviour that is one of the key factors in reducing health diseases across Europe.

“As a former teacher, I can spot straight away who’s awake and alert and who’s tired and distracted. Going for my Personal Best

I have been supporting individuals to help them achieve healthy, active lifestyle for over 12 years now and I believe that my work starts with personally committing to achieving my own personal best health and body. I am in a pretty good shape as it is, but, if I am honest with myself, there is always work to be done when it comes to our health, shape and general, wellness. Work is never done, there is always room for progress. Thanks to popular demand by some of my clients, here is a typical day in how I nourish my body daily and keep my energy levels high as well as keep body fat low. This plan would help with maintenance of lean muscle, help with reduction of body fat whilst provide nourishment at the optimal level, which helps with energy levels as well as slowing down the aging process. The key to healthy eating is BALANCED nutrition that help with boosting your metabolism throughout a day by stabilising your blood sugar levels to avoid fat storing as well as providing enough water, fibre, personalised protein and micronutrients, vitamins and minerals, to your body throughout a day. So, we begin with breakfast…

BREAKFAST is a family affair in our household. My children were as young as 6 months when they started with the shakes and I have taken shakes throughout pregnancy too, so this is something that we ALL do and enjoy and understand the nourishment value we get from it. My children will have a smaller shake with some fruit and a honey on whole grain toast or an egg or some whole grain cereal such as porridge as an example, my husband and I will only have a 350ml shake in soya milk or greek yoghurt OR even made in water with some of our Protein Drink Mix to help with protein, but without the sugar present in milk. I also add some of our Oat Apple Fibre too to keep my fibre level high from the start of the day. I also add some fruit or even vegetables to my shake and this breakfast. It gives me 25 grams of protein per shake and over 10 grams of fibre. I add more protein for my husband, so kick starts his day with 30 grams, which is optimum for the man of his built.

My healthy breakfast is between 250 – 300 calories which is just perfect for anyone wishing to lose weight or even maintain.

This nutrition powerhouse keeps me full for hours to come, 3 hours minimum. I also add my Multivitamins (Herbalife’s Formula 2), Fibre & Herb Tablets, Herbalifeline Omega 3, Xtra Calcium and FloraFibre to all my three main meals, together with 1000mg Vitamin C once or twice a day!

Easy Recipe Formula 1 in Yoghurt

Formula 1 Healthy Breakfast in Yoghurt

Formula 1 Healthy Meal is very versatile and, while it can be consumed as a shake, cold or even hot, it is fantastic when made with yoghurt.

Yoghurt is already great in itself for our gut health and, by adding our Formula 1 Healthy Meal to it – you also increase protein to an optimum amount, fibre as well as 22 other nutrients. It is also much fun as you can, depending on Formula 1 flavour, also spice it up with fruit or spices.

Add 2 x Scoops of your favurite Formula 1 to 250 ml of Low Fat Greek Yoghurt and mix until Formula 1 is fully blended in. Add a little bit of soya or regular milk to reduce the thickness and you can add hndful of berriesand even sprinkle with teaspoon of seeds or ground almonds for some healthy fats.

Making Formula 1 with Kefir

Kefir is all the rage at the moment in the natural health community and many consider it even healthier than yoghurt. It can be made at home and. whilst some health food store sell it, it is not as common as yoghurt. Reason why it is so beneficial is thanks to the cultures present, is is high in nutrients and probiotics and, therefore, very beneficial for digestion and gut health. Many people consider it to be healthier than yogurt.

Formua 1 is delicious equally in Kefir nad, as kefir is more liquid compared to natural yoghurt, it makes it perfect for use with Formula 1 with a bi thicker, but not too thick, consistency at the end. Delicious and healthy too.

When people ask me how can I have the same breakfast every single i.e. our Formula 1 shake, I look at them not sure what they mean. obviously, I keep forgetting that people who ask don’t probably know much about Formula 1 (otherwise they would not be asking this question). Formula 1 Pudding

Here is one I did last night for this mornings breakfast… Formula 1 pudding… 200ml water, 3 scoops of F1 and 1 scoop of Protein Drink Mix… I added some chia seeds, 1 teaspoon, topped with frozen berries that thawed nicely overnight. My mother, my inspiration

My parents have been my inspiration throughout my life, each of them for different reasons…

My father died when I was 19 from lung cancer and I grew up feeling that he was destroying his life with smoking and an unhealthy life in general. My mother, on the other hand, whilst having gone through breast cancer treatment herself, has always been very aware of the power of nutrition, has always taken care of her health… She made nutritious concoctions using plants and herbs, sought after ancient health recipes, even drank raw quail eggs daily to recover after her breast cancer treatment (I only discovered as an adult that they are full of anti-inflammatory Omega 3 fats), amongst other things. I am talking Bosnia & Herzegovina, in 1970s… Not modern Britain… 🙂
